Violinist Daniel Heifetz
will be this year's featured ar-
tist at the annual Weisberg
concert 7:30 p.m. June 3 at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
Mr. Heifetz will be accom-
panied by pianist Samuel
Sanders.
The program will include
compositions by Mozart,
Tchaikovsky, Franck, Pro-
kofieff, Bloch, Kreisler,
Achron and Gershwin.
Daniel Heifetz has ap-
peared with the leading or-
chestras of Philadelphia,
Cleveland and Los Angeles,
under such conductors as
Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel
and Michael Tilson Thomas.
Pianist Samuel Sanders
has partnered artists such as
Itzhak Perlman, Pinchas
Zukerman, Leonard Rose,
YoYo Ma, Mstislav
Rostropovich, Paula Robison.
Admission to the concert is
free and open to the public.
Patron tickets, which entitle
one to reserved seating and
entrance to the afterglow
following the concert, may be
purchased from the
synagogue.

Shir Shalom
Music Festival

An evening of music by
Jewish composers will mark
the First (Annual) Music
Festival of Temple Shir
Shalom 8 p.m. May 22.
Music in Ones, Twos and
Threes will feature music by
Ernest Bloch, Julius Chajes,
George Gershwin and others.
Performing will be pianist,
Fontaine Laing, violinist
Elizabeth Rowin and cellist
Nadine Deleury.
The evening, sponsored by
the Milton M. Alexander
Fund for Music, will begin
with a short Shabbat service
followed by the concert. A
reception will follow.
