The Jewish Community
• Association/United Jewish
Appeal, the umbrella
organization for Washtenaw
\, County's Jewish Community,
will hold its annual meeting
• 7 p.m. May 20 at the Jewish
( Community Center in Ann
Arbor.
The meeting will include
the election of new board
members and consideration of
a proposal to change the
Association's name to Jewish
Federation of Washtenaw
County/United Jewish Ap-
peal. JCA/UJA members will
consider the following to
serve on the board of direc-
tors: incumbents Robert
Hern, Jerry Lax and Carol
Smokier; and new members
Howard Finkel, Geraldine
Markel, Martha Oleinick,
Steven Silverman and Larry
Tankanow.
honoring
Ceremonies
presidents of local Jewish
organizations, participants in
the JCA/UJA's Camaign '92
and outgoing members of the
board will be held. There also
will be recognition of in-
dividuals who have fulfilled
their pledges for Makor, a pro-
gram which encourages
members of the local Jewish
community to do a minimum
of 18 hours of Judaic study in
the course of a year.

collaboration in the devel-
opment of the Arab State

will hold its annual meeting
10 a.m. May 17 at the JCC in
Ann Arbor.
Board members to be
elected are Ellen Abramson,
Lisa Bardach, Larry Hiss, Liz
Kirshner, Marty Smith,
Elayne Tyner and Pat
Soskolne. Trudy Crandall and
• Judi Davidson will return for
their second three-year terms.
Retiring board members to
