1 3/4 cups mixture.
3. Drizzle water over re-
maining crumbs. Toss to mix.
Press firmly into ungreased
13x9x2-inch pan.
4. Spread preserves careful-
ly over crust. Sprinkle with
reserved VA cups crumbs. Pat
gently.
5. Bake at 375 degrees F. for
25 to 30 minutes. Cool in pan.

6. For drizzle, combine con-
fectioner's sugar, milk and
vanilla. Stir well. Drizzle over
top of cookies. Cut into
triangles or bars, about 2x11/2
inches. 36 bars.
Note: Try substituting your
favorite preserves or jam in
place of apricot.

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees
F. Grease baking sheet with
shortening.
2. For cookie, combine
shortening, cream cheese and
milk in large bowl. Beat at
medium speed of electric mix-
er until well blended. Beat in
apricot preserves and brown
sugar.
3. Combine flour, baking
powder, cinnamon and salt.
Mix into creamed mixture at
low speed until just blended.
Stir in nuts. Drop 2 level
measuring tablespoonsfuls
dough into mound on
ungreased baking sheet.
Repeat for each cookie, spac-
ing 3 inches apart.
4. Bake at 350 degrees F. for
14 minutes, or until set. Cool
one minute on baking sheet.
Remove to cooling rack. Cool
completely before frosting.
5. For frosting, combine
shortening, confectioner's
sugar and apricot preserves
in small bowl. Stir until well
blended. Frost cooled cookes.
Sprinkle finely chopped nuts
over frosting, if desired. About
1 1/2 dozen cookies.

1 /2 cup apricot preserves

11/2 teaspoons baking
powder
11/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 /4 teaspoon salt
cup coarsely chopped

1 tablespoon shortening
1 cup confectioner's
sugar

Finely chopped pecans
or flake coconut
