Snack time can provide a much-needed energy boost for children after a busy day and is an ideal way to relax and make the transition from school to home. Nutrition experts say that snacks can be a good idea for children. "Studies have shown that children who eat snacks have a better dietary intake than children who don't," according to Dr. Marilyn Schorin, manager, nutrition services, Weight Watchers International. "Pro- perly planned snacks can be a great way to balance out your child's diet with foods they may not eat at regular meals."
