Congregation B`nai Moshe
will host Dr. Judith Laikin
Elkin at its annual Rabbi
Moses Lehrman Scholar In
Residence weekend May 8-9.
Dr. Elkin is a historian of
Latin American Jewry and a
research scientist at the
Frankel Center of Judaic
Studies at the University of
Michigan. She has authored
several books laying the foun-
dation for the academic study
of Latin American Jewish
populations.
The topics of discussion will
be "1492 and All That" at the
Friday evening services
followed by an Oneg Shabbat.
Saturday morning Dr. Elkin
will speak on "Catholic, Jew
or Jewish Catholic." Follow-
ing the Shabbat service will
be a lunch and learn where
Dr. Elkin's topic will be "Col-
umbus and Me."
