Bonamici Perlove LCE Concert Features Winners The Lyric Chamber Ensem- ble will present to the Detroit public the seven winners of its 1991 Mozart Youth Competi- tion in a showcase concert 3:30 p.m. May 3 at the Detroit Institute of Arts. The concert is being partially under- written by the Michigan Health Care Corporation and Hammel' Music Stores. The judges decided to split the first prize between two contestants, pianist Anthony Bonamici of Livonia, student of Donald Morelock, and flutist Nina Perlove of Ann Arbor, student of Robert Albritton. Second place was won by the Andover String Quartet, an all-female quartet from Bloomfield Hills: violinists Claire Char- boneau and Karen Li, violist Ann Chao, and cellist Andrea Yun. Pianist Yuko Kashima of Canton, also a student of Donald Morelock, took third prize, and three Honorable Mentions were awarded. The May 3 program at the DIA will include the Mozart Piano Concerto in B Flat Ma- jor, Mozart's Andante in C for Flute and Strings, and the Mozart Quartet, and the win- ners will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra. Honor- able Mention award winners also will perform on the concert. For ticket information, call Lyric Chamber Ensemble, 357-1111. Chamber Players Present Concert Music of Schumann, Dvorak and Claude Arrieu will be featured by the American Artists Series Chamber Players 7 p.m. May 3 at Kingswood Auditorium on the Cranbrook Campus, 500 Lone Pine Road, Bloom- field Hills. Pianist Joann Freeman will be joined by violinist Ron Fischer, violist Hart Hollman and cellist John Thurman. Violinist Linda Snedden Smith will join the others in the performance.
