Set For Israel

Detroit-area Jewish singles
age 25-40 are invited to par-
ticipate in the annual
Hatikvah National Singles
Mission to Israel July 26-Aug.

. Sponsored nationally by the
United Jewish Appeal and
locally by the Jewish Federa-
tion of Metropolitan Detroit,
the mission will give singles
the opportunity to meet their
peers from throughout the
U.S. and Israel for social and
travel opportunities.
Detroit mission chairmen
are Steven J. Ehrmann,
Robert E. Mattler and Ellen
S. Schlussel.
Persons who go on the mis-
sion will have the opportuni-
ty to visit museums and
historical sites, travel the Jor-
dan River, climb the Golan
Heights, see the artists colony
in Safed, participate in an ar-
cheological dig, attend a Kab-
balat Shabbat service at the
Western Wall, meet kibbutz-
niks and new Israelis, tour
Jerusalem and visit Detroit's
Project Renewal sister city of
Yavne. Entertainment, lec-
tures and outdoor sports also
are on the tour itinerary.
Cost of the mission includes
accommodations at five-star
hotels, round-trip airfare from
New York and most meals.

Among Finalists

New York (JTA)--- Two re-
cent Soviet Jewish immi-
grants are among the 40
finalists chosen in the 1992
Westinghouse Science Tal-
ent Search. A third is a
semifinalist.
New York high School
seniors Michail Sunitsky,
Igor Tsukerman and
Natalya Yudovsky were
selected from among 1,705
students nationwide who
entered the competition.
