Michigan Branch of
Women's League for Conser-
vative Judaism Spring Con-
ference will be held May 3-4
at Congregation Beth
Abraham Hillel Moses.
The theme of the confernce
is "The Noah Principle —
Turning Obstacles Into Op-
portunities."
Conference Chairmen are
Shirley Ruzumna and Lillian
Trumpet Ruth M. Marcus is
the Michigan Branch
president.
Myra Shapiro will be the
National Consultant from
Women's League for Conser-
vative Judaism. She will give
the keynote address at the
banquet May 3 on "Are We
Too Cozy?"
Richard Lobenthal, the
Midwest Director ADL, will
be a speaker May 3 on Social
Action/World Affairs.
The luncheon will honor
the anniversaries of Adat
Shalom, Ahavas Israel and
Beth Israel, Flint. Rabbi A.
Irving Schnipper will present
a lunch and learn.
Delegates will participate
in a Shaharit service con-
ducted by Shaarey Zedek
Sisterhood and a Torah study
session conducted by Rabbi
Aaron Bergman May 4.
Other conference events in-
clude a musical, Say it With
Music, and the installation of
the new branch board of
directors.
Reservations are required
and luncheon and banquet
tickets must be purchased
ahead of time. Babysitting is
available.

Sisterhood Hears
Fashion Talk

Adat Shalom Synagogue
Sisterhood will feature Sandy
Schreier, authority on 20th
century fashion, at the
group's annual Donor Day
May 5 at the synagogue.
The morning will begin
with boutiques and coffee.
Following the noon luncheon,
guests will hear Ms. Schreier
discuss "The Costuming of
Hollywood," focusing on
Jewish designers and stars.
Sandy Schreier's exhibit,
"Chic to Chic," was on display
this winter at the Detroit In-
stitute of Arts.
Donor Day is Sisterhood's
major fund-raiser of the year.
Proceeds help to support the
synagogue. There is a charge.

BBW Council
Presents Slate

The nominating committee
of the B'nai B'rith Women
Council of Metropolitan
Detroit chaired by Dorothy
Droz Mills presented the
following slate of officers for
1992-93: president, Libbie
Zalenko; vice presidents,
Kathy Rissman Lowenthal,
JoAnn Remer, Norma Gorosh,
Elaine Meyers; treasurer,
Bertha Fischer; recording
secretary, Lillian Bratt; con-
sultant, Dorothy Droz Mills.
The election will take place
7:30 p.m. April 29 in the Sum-
mit Apartment clubhouse. All
chapters are asked to have
representatives at this
meeting.

Hears Speaker

The sisterhood of Congrega-
tion Beit Kodesh will meet 8
p.m. April 28 at the
synagogue.
