The Agency for Jewish
Education Resource Center
will host three days of work-
shops for Jewish educators
with educator-in-residence,
Dr. Aryeh Wohl May 3-5.
'Ibpics to be discussed in-
clude: "Learning how to learn
— Raising your L.Q." (Learn-
ing Quotient) — An explana-
tion of study skills and con-
crete suggestions on how to
plan, concentrate, remember
and draw from one's memory.
Also included are test taking
techniques, efficient reading
and studying. "Right Brain-
Left Brain" — A presentation
on how to operate as efficient
teachers and how our
teaching should be affected by
using the knowledge we have
about brain development and
its function. "Emergent
Literacy" (Pre-School, K-1-2)
— a discourse on current
thinking, research and prac-
tice in the development of
learning and language
readiness, early childhood.
Dr. Wohl is the educational
director for the Center for
Educational Technology in
Israel and a professor of
education at Thl Aviv Univer-
sity. His other roles include
educational consultant for
the Israel Defense Forces,
Jewish Agency Educational
Division, Jerusalem, as well
as to Israel Educational
Television.
