Frieda and Ben Kroll of Hun-
tington Woods; nine grand-
children; nine great-grand-
children.
Harold Ellias,
Pharmacist
Harold Milton Ellias, of
Southfield, died April 10. He
was 85.
A pharmacist, Mr. Ellias
owned many Rexall drug
stores in Detroit until his
retirement in 1983.
In 1975, he formed the
Cultural Center Merchants
Association to bring busi-
nesses back to Detroit.
He was past president of
the Metropolitan Detroit
Pharmaceutical Association,
the Aesculapian Phar-
maceutical Association and
the AZO fraternity. He was
a member for more than 60
years of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek.
He is survived by his wife,
Betty; sons and daughters-
in-law, Frank and Lisa of
Farmington Hills, Lawrence
Hyson of Santa Rosa, Calif.,
Dr. Morton and Nicole
Hyson of Las Vegas, Nev.;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Anne and Dr. Eugene
Greenstein, Roberta and
Paul Ingber, Deborah and
Thomas Williams, all of
Farmington Hills; brother
and sister-in-law, Dr. Elmer
and Peggy of Miami Beach,
Fla.; sister, Ruth Aftel of
Southfield; 11 grand-
children.
Sylvia Reitman,
Pioneer Activist
Sylvia Lechtzin Reitman,
of Southfield, died April 12.
She was 85.
Mrs. Reitman was past
president for many years of
the Golda Meir chapter of
Pioneer Women and a mem-
ber of the Aesculapian Socie-
ty.
She leaves her sons and
daughters-in-law, Stanley
and Daniella Lechtzin of
Melrose Park, Penn., Ed-
ward and Carol Lechtzin of
West Bloomfield; sister,
Goldie Alper-n of Lyndhurst,
Ohio; four grandchildren.
Rosalyn Kraus,
Pianist, Volunteer
Rosalyn E. Kraus, of Oak
Park, died April 11. She was
73.
A graduate of the Juilliard
School of Music, Mrs. Kraus
also held a degree in special
education from Wayne State
University. She was an ac-
complished pianist who
played for the USO during
the war, and for the many
organizations of which she
was a member.
Mrs. Kraus taught voice
for many years in the
Detroit Public Schools, and
performed for senior citizens
programs at Camp Maas and
Borman Hall.
She was a member of
Hadassah, the National
Council of Jewish Women,
Pioneer Women and the
Jewish War Veterans. She
also was a volunteer for
Meals on Wheels and served
as treasurer of Temple
Emanu-El.
She is survived by her
husband, Seymour; son, Joel
of Oak Park; daughters and
sons-in-law, Harriet and
Joseph Ackman of Brooklyn,
N.Y., Myra and Richard
Stone of Solon, Ohio, Sandra
and Hyman Spekman of
South Orange, N.J.; eight
grandchildren.
Irving Wine,
Businessman
Irving Wine, of West
Bloomfield, died April 7. He
was 75.
Mr. Wine was the owner of
Barry Surplus Sales and the
Michigan Pneumatic Tool
Company of Detroit.
He opened Barry Surplus
in 1944, after serving in the
U.S. Army during World
War II. He received the Pur-
ple Heart.
Mr. Wine was honored
with numerous awards for
his support of the city, which
included lending life rafts
during expressway flooding
in the 1950s.
He was a lifelong member
of Adat Shalom Synagogue,
and was active in B'nai
B'rith, Crescent Shrine and
Schillers Lodge.
He is survived by his wife,
Lillian; sons and daughters-
in-law, Hadley and Beverly
of Huntington Woods, Gary
of Orchard Lake, Barry and
Susan of New York;
daughter, Sheree of Los
Angeles; six grandchildren.
