p.m. April 26 at the Ultimate
Sports Bar, Pontiac.
This year, Variety Club will
honor Danny Raskin, writer
for The Jewish News, who
will receive the Humanita-
rian Award. Danny Raskin
has been a columnist for over
50 years. He belongs to many
charitable organizations and
has won awards for his giving
nature. As a 32nd degree
Mason, he volunteers at the
Shrine Circus every year.
Henry Baskin will be the
emcee of the evening.
Another highlight will be
Linda Solomon's "Focus on
the Famous" celebrity por-
traits exhibition.
A cash bar will be available.
Entertainment will be provid-
ed by the Johnny Trudell
Orchestra.

at the Maple-Drake Jewish
Community Center, will have
a "Welcome Visitor Open
House" class 6-8 p.m. April
27. This is the end of the
semester class (party) with
the professional dance in-
structor. Guests are invited to
participate in the dancing
and all the festivities.
Vadim Tsemekhman will
simultaneously play 25 chess
opponents 7 p.m. April 29 at
Maple-Drake. There will be
an overhead screen for spec-
tator viewing.
