Radio nibute
To Heroes Of WWII

Members of the German
Resistance during World War
II will be honored in a music
tribute broadcast live by
Michigan Radio 7 p.m. April
5.
Among the many German
citizens remembered for their
courage is Dietrich Bonhoef-
fer, an influential theologian
charged with conspiring to
assassinate Hitler and hang-
ed in 1945. "Heroes of Cons-
cience" is a concert presented
under the auspices of Union
Theological Seminary, Mr.
Bonhoeffer's student home
and place of his fateful deci-
sion to return to Germany in
the summer of 1939.
National Public Radio's
Susan Stamberg will host the
broadcast as journalist Bill
Moyers introduces the
musical selections from on
stage at the Riverside Church
in New York. Works by
Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert
and Schoenberg were chosen
for their appropriateness and
authenticity by conductor
Christoph von Dohnanyi.

Michigan Radio, a listener-
supported broadcast service of
the University of Michigan,
can be heard in Ann Arbor.
