will conduct the Empty Bowl
Concert, Sunday, April 5 at
3 p.m. at Temple Beth El to
benefit UNICEF projects
that assist Latin American
street children. Flavio
Varani , an internationally
acclaimed pianist, will per-
form at the concert along
with the Bloomfield Hills
Lahser High School or-
chestra conducted by
Valarie Palmieri, assis-
tant conductor of the Birm-
ingham Bloomfield Sym-
phony.
The concert will include a
presentation of the Vision
for Youth Award by Bloom-
field Hills Schools Super-
intendent Robert Dock-
ing to Oakland County Cir-
cuit Court Judge Edward
Sosnick. Lillian Genser
and Jamie Rabinowitz
will the chair an afterglow
reception. Several "empty
bowls" have been donated by
ceramic artists for a drawing
at the reception.
