Sett:gainer Family Passover Event Planned Lunch And Learn About Passover The Jewish Community Center and Jewish Ex- periences For Families will present Primarily Passover, a preschool and early primary Passover family experience, 6:30-8 p.m. April 7-8 at the Maple-Drake Jewish Com- munity Center. Families will create Pesach pillows for their seder at home and will take home a Touchable Haggadah kit. The Matzah Factory will be open for matzah making. There will be a charge of $2 for each child at the Matzah Factory only. All areas of the Discovery Room will be open. The storytelling of the "Passover Parrot" will be April 7. A Pesach sing-along with Maureen Schiffman and her puppet Coco will take palce April 8. For reservations, call Rabbi Finman, 737-7000. Dr. Conrad Giles Is MJC President The board of directors of the Michigan Jewish Conference has appointed Dr. Conrad Giles as president. The MJC is a statewide network to share information and ideas, exchange views and facilitate the political relations needs of its 13 member commun- ities. Executive Committee chair- man and past president of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, Dr. Giles played a significant role in the development of the MJC. He also was involved in the creation of the Task Force on Services for Persons with Disabilities and chaired the Jewish Education Planning Committee. The Conference works to develop and maintain a spirit of unity and cooperation among Jewish communities of Michigan to collectively ad- vance their mutual goals and ideals. Group Sets Book Review The Sholem Aleichem In- stitute will present a book review of Chutzpah by Alan Dershowitz 8:30 p.m. April 10 at the Franklin Pointe Club- house. The panel includes Ruth Ditkoff, Gerald Fried- man, David Moskowitz and Ruth Waldfogel. Keshet Hosts Passover Event Keshet, an organization for Jewish Families of Children with Special Needs, will pre- sent a Family Passover Ex- perience 2-4:30 p.m. April 12 at Congregation Beth Achim. Families will have the op- portunity to walk through the various steps of the Passover seder, with crafts, activities and refreshments at several of the stations. This event is open to all families of individuals with special needs; including children and young adults, parents, grandparents and siblings. The Family Passover Ex- perience is co-sponsored by Keshet, Jewish Experiences for Families (J.E.F.F.), and the Agency for Jewish Education. A donation per family is requested.
