The Business and Profes-
sional Women of the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit will feature a discus-
sion on "Battling Sexual
Harassment: Is a Truce in
Sight?" at a dinner meeting
6 p.m. April 8 at Knollwood
Country Club, West
Bloomfield.
The event will feature Dr.
Diana Warshay, who will pro-
vide a sociological perspective
on sexual harassment, and at-
torney Carole Chiamp, of
Chiamp and Associates, who
will address the legal aspects
of the topic.
A professor of sociology at
the Center for Creative
Studies, Dr. Warshay is a pro-
fessional consultant who has
worked on several cases of sex
and race discrimination and
sexual harassment. She
chairs the American Civil
Liberties Union Women's
Rights Committee and serves
on its Sex Discrimination
Committee.
Ms. Chiamp was the first
woman president of the
Detroit Bar Association in
1982; she is a former
Michigan civil rights commis-
sioner, an arbitrator for the
American Arbitration
Association and mediator for
the Oakland and Wayne
County Circuit courts.
The gathering is open to all
interested women. There is a
charge, but there will be no
Campaign solicitation. For in-

Jewish History
At B'nai David

Irwin Cohen will present a
lecture/slide program titled
"History of Detroit's Jewish
Community, 1892-1967" at
the B'nai David Cultural
Forum 10:30 a.m. April 12 at
B'nai David.
The lecture is the second in
a two-part series on the
history of Detroit's Jewish
community in honor of the
centennial anniversary of
Congregation B'nai David.
Irwin Cohen is a native
Detroiter and director of
group sales for the Detroit
Tigers. He also is a historian
of Detroit Jewry and has
assembled a pictorial history
of Detroit's Jewish communi-
ty from its inception.
The slide program will be
preceded by a continental
breakfast at 9:45 a.m. and the
community is invited at no
charge.
