The Jewish Family Service is compiling names of clients who need holiday food. Distribution through Moies Chetim (Passover fund for the needy) will take place at Yad Ezra. JFS also is mailing ap- plications for food certificates to clients. Eligible clients will receive certificates redeem- able for food at Farmer Jack supermarkets in time for Passover. The Maple-Drake Jewish Community Center, its Jim- my Prentis Morris Building and the United Hebrew Schools building will be col- lection sites for Project Chametz, the Jewish Com- munity Council's program to collect and distribute foods to area soup kitchens and food pantries April 12-17. A special fund created by Jewish Home for Aged board member Marvin Danto, "Dress Up for Yontiff," selects holiday outfits for Prentis Manor residents who may need them. The Hebrew Free Loan Association provides cash assistance for a number of needs, during Passover and throughout the year. Special efforts are being made on behalf of new Americans. Family-to-Family, a project of the Women's Divi- sion of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and the National Council of Jewish Women, is encourag- ing American families to in- vite new Americans from the former Soviet Union to their seders to acquaint the new Americans with Jewish tradi- tions and holidays. The Fresh Air Society has created a special Passover greeting card to send to campers who have applied for the coming camping season. The card has been translated into Russian for new Americans who will attend camp this summer. People with special needs Leonid and Max Faynshteyn at a model seder. will have a model seder April 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Maple- Drake JCC. On April 16 at 1:30 p.m., a model seder will be held at Borman Hall for its residents with special needs. Sinai Hospital will provide seder plates and Haggadot for patients on the first two nights of Passover. Kosher-for- Passover meals will be available to all Jewish pa- tients throughout the holiday. The Jewish Vocational Ser- vice Adult Day Program will feature Passover cooking ac- tivities for senior adults with developmental disabilities. In the Herman Teitel Senior Adult Workshop, Passover macaroons will be served at the morning coffee break. JVS Project Outreach volunteers will conduct a special seder for isolated inner-city elderly. The seder is co-sponsored by the Cooper- ative Council of the League of Jewish Women's Organizations.
