Cindy Crawford insists that she nev-
er plotted her career. It just happened.
But beauty, intelligence and savvy
helped to launch it into superstardom.
She is the American model icon. In
1992, she's already appeared on the
covers of Young and Modern, Glamour and
Vogue. In the next few months, Cos-
mopolitan, Self and probably Vanity Fair
will follow.
MTV Television viewers can see her
on the program "House of Style" as a
host. She does not rule out an acting
career in the future, but she does not
think that the movie roles offered to her
so far have been substantive.
She just finished a fashion shoot for
Vanity Fair, creating a look a la actress
Rita Hayworth. She found that inter-
esting. "Sometimes I bring a book (to
shoots) to keep my mind from going to
mush. Everyone knows I'm an avid
reader," she says. Some of Cindy Craw-
ford's favorite authors are Isabel Al-
lende and Lillian Hellman.
Cindy Crawford says she has no
heroes. She admires her Mom for
teaching her how to love uncondition-
ally. "There's no one's life I want to em-
ulate. I want to make my own life," she
says.
And she's happy and content with
her life. "I try to let in the best, and it
seems the best happens. Being open
to everything positive is work. It's work
to put the energy out and not be neg-
ative. But it really pays off."

strong, vibrant shades of the color,
including fuschia and magenta, into
the latest "must have." The vibrant
pinks are presented in everything
