mml FOR SENIORS I The Social Action Committee Council Announces: Senior Adult 'Transportation Door to Door Transporta- tion to the Oak Park Jewish Community Center is offered to senior adults. This service is provided through the cooperative efforts of the Jewish Community Center, the Jewish Information Ser- vice, the Jewish Welfare Federation and Jerome Glassman. Pick-up is scheduled for the following areas: Monday — Southfield and Detroit; Tues- day — Oak Park; Wednesday — Northwest Detroit, Oak Park, Royal Oak, Southfield and Berkley; Friday — Oak Park, Royal Oak, Berkley. Passengers are picked up at their homes beginning at 9:30 a.m. and return from the Center at 3 p.m. A donation of $1.00 for the round trip is suggested. To initiate service, contact the Jewish Information Ser- vice, 967-4357. In order to accommodate the transportation needs of older adult apartment dwellers, the Jewish Com- munity Center offers an apartment shuttle to persons living within a mile of the Jimmy Prentis Morris Building. The shuttle brings seniors to the JPM building each weekday at approx- imately 9:30 a.m. and makes a return trip at 2:30 p.m. For information, call the Center, 967-4030. The Helping Hand Drive For New Arrivals Can you imagine trying to pack your life into two suitcases? Russian families arrive in our community with 2 pieces of luggage per person. You can help provide our new Americans with basic living needs — join the Social Action Committee of your synagogue or temple. From February through June, the Helping Hand Drive For New Arrivals will be collecting items for the new Americans. To make it even easier for you to help, each participating synagogue and temple will be a collection point for donated items. April Donation Needs: Cleaning Necessities: Pails, Brooms, Mops, Sponges, Etc.
