Morris Jewish Community
Center.
Jews from throughout
metropolitan Detroit follow-
ed on foot, in wagons, buses
and cars — all under bright,
sunny skies.
"God wasn't prepared to be
the grinch of Purim," said
Mr. Kohn, who last year
dressed his family as
characters from The Wizard
Of Oz. Mr. Kohn was
Scarecrow Haman. (Get it,
scarecrow, Hay-man).
This year, his father-in-
law, Manny Mittelman came
in drag, as Queen Esther, and
was attended by his grand-
daughter, Sora, 15.
The two rode a banana-
yellow 1929 Cord through
Oak Park. Mr. Mittelman
looked beautiful, with a
mink stole wrapped around
his daughter's wedding
dress. His makeup was a
little too Tammy Faye, but
his nails, painted blood-red,
were perfectly manicured.
Like butter.
