Michigan Jescry Greets Israel

Michigan Jewry will join thousands of Jewish com-
munities in this country and overseas in greeting Israel
on its 14th anniversary. which occurs next Wednesday.
The community's major celebration will be the
annual event co-sponsored by the Jewish community
Council and the Zionist Council, to be held Sunday
evening. May 13, at the Adas Shalom Synagogue. Col.
Yehuda Prihar, Military. Naval and Air Attache at the
Israel Embassy in Washington. will be the guest speaker.
Next Wednesday evening, the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti
Bnai Brith Lodge will sponsor an Israel anniversary
celebration for the Jewries of the two communities, at
the Ann Arbor Jewish Community Center, 1429 Ilill St.,
Ann Arbor. Ezekiel Leikin. executive director of the
Michigan Region of the ZOA, will speak.
An Israel Independence Day youth celebration will
be held at the Jewish Center Sunday, under the co-
sponsorship of the Center. Jewish National Fund, AZA
and BBG. Under the co-sponsorship of the Jewish
National Fund and directors of all Jewish schools in
Detroit, an educators' conference will mark the anni-
versary on May 20 with an exhibit of Israeli books.
The First Baptist Church of Oak Park will salute
Israel's anniversary at a program on May 13, with
Dr. Harold P. Warren. the church's pastor, as speaker.
