In Recognition of 50 Years of Dedication and Constancy in
Addressing Issues Important to the Entire Jewish Community

Wayne State University Press's strong commitment to publishing titles in Jewish studies began almost
fifty years ago. Like The Jewish News under the guidance of Philip Slomovitz—respected journalist and
tireless advocate for world Jewry, the state of Israel, and human rights—the Press has sought to docu-
ment the experiences and perspectives of the area's Jews. On the occasion of the golden anniversary of
