.A

new Year 2 awn3

By N. E. ARONSTAM, M.D.

A New Year .awns!

With yearning hearts and hope profound

We conternplate the Future.

Though the sorrow-laden Past - be sealed,

Its scars still mark the wounds received,

The desolation, the pain and heartaches

Israel endured

With resignation and stalwart- faith

In his final triumph.

A New Year dawns!

Clouds may cover our horizon,

Yet the sun shines golden in his promise,

A promise of fulfillment in the end.

A New Year dawns!

The horn's blast is heard from shore to shore,

Rosh
Hashanah

5707

Which calls for fortitude a thousandfold and more!

May such strength never cease

May the Old Year and Its Evils End . • .

And be the harbinger of Peace

May the New Year and Its Blessings Begin

And the ultimate consummation

Of

our goal and aspiration.

Amen.
