Midrasha Hosts
Speaker On Art

The Midrasha — College of
Jewish Studies and the
Grosse Pointe Jewish Council
will co-sponsor a lecture titl-
ed "Jewish Heritage as Ex-
pressed in Jewish Art,"
presented by Esther Tarnoff
Cooper 7:30-8:30 p.m. March
31 at the Grosse Pointe
Unitarian Church.
Ms. Cooper of the Speakers
Bureau of the Detroit In-
stitute of Arts will discuss the
development of Jewish ritual
art from Moses to modern
times.

Chabad Plans
Lecture, Classes

Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg
of Bais Chabad Torah Center
will deliver a lecture on "In
Defense Of The Messiah" 8:15
p.m. March 23 at the Torah
Center. The lecture is part of
the Monday night series on
Basic Judaism. For informa-
tion, call the Torah Center,

The Torah Center will offer
two new courses on the
Talmud. The chapter
"Azeneshech," dealing with
the laws of usery, land con-
tracts and credit cards, will be
studied one hour before Sab-
bath afternoon services. The
class also will be offered on
Thursdays, 8:15 p.m. at the
Torah Center.
A new Talmud class on the
Tractate "Kesubos," which
deals with marital obliga-
tions, will be given on Sun-
days 9:45 a.m. at the Torah
Center.
To make reservations for
the matzah factory, sponsored
by the Bais Chabads of West
Bloomfield and Farmington
Hills and the Jewish Com-
munity Center, call the
Jewish Community Center,
661-1000. The matzah factory
will be conducted April 5-12.
