Museum, Village Open For Spring This spring at Henry Ford Museum, some of the 20th century's most remarkable machines, gadgets and do-it- yourself projects are featured in a new exhibit called "Possi- ble Dreams: Popular Mecha- nics and America's En- thusiasm for Technology." In the exhibit, poster-sized PM covers, article excerpts, photographs and do-it-your- self diagrams frame displays of historic objects represen- ting six different eras of technological enthusaism. In conjunction with the ex- hibit, the museum will pre- sent a special weekend called "Dreamers and Doers" on March 14 and 15. American ingenuity and inventiveness will be explored in this pro- gram that includes an auto- design workshop and other hands-on family activities. Displays, demonstrations and historic newsreels will help visitors discover how Americans turn dreams into innovations and a panel of Popular Mechanics editors will forecast high-tech trends of the future. Also appealing to creative minds of all ages is the museum's new Innovation Station. The only one of its kind anywhere, this interac- tive learning game chal- lenges participants of all ages to develop problem-solving skills. Teams work together ) on this huge "think-ground" to direct brightly colored balls through a system of intercon- necting tubes and activity stations. Outdoors at adjacent Green- field Village, spring arrives officially March 18, when the 80 historical buildings re- open to the public after a winter hiatus. Thomas Edison's Menlo Park Laboratory, Henry Ford's birthplace, Firestone Farm, the Wright brothers' home and cycle shop and George Washington Carver Memorial are among the highlights. ? Activity will revolve around Firestone Farm April 23, 24, 25 and 26 as spring fever strikes with Spring Farm Days. Demonstrations of sheep-shearing, horse-drawn plowing and other seasonal activities will be among the highlights as life on a family farm of the 1880s is re- created. Visitors of all ages can pitch in and help with the chores. The treasures of past generations will be on view for prospective new owners at the eighth annual Village Antiques Show May 8, 9 and 10. dining room, carry-out and trays • breakfast • lunch • dinner • after-theater • kiddie menu 7618 Woodward Ave. open Tuesdays thru Sundays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. 871-1590 NOW OPEN SUNDAYS AGAIN 12 noon to m, Our Daily Hours . . .
