Senior Events

The Senior Adult Depart-
ment of the Jewish Com-
munity Center is forming a
hearing support group at the
Jimmy Prentis Morris
Building. The group will meet
from 10 a.m. to noon the se-
cond and fourth Friday of
each month, beginning
March 13.
The group, an educational
recreational and social net-
work affiliated with the na-
tional Self Help for Hard of
Hearing People (SHHH), is
patterned after a similar
group at the Maple-Drake
JCC. Speech reading techni-
ques will be stressed at each
session. For information, call

Yiddish speakers can par-
ticipate in a study group
sponsored by the Yiddish
Culture Club. Monthly
meetings focus on literature,
poetry, commentary and
philosophy of the Jewish peo-
ple. The next meeting will be
12:30 p.m. March 12 at JPM.
"Your Prescription for Hap-
piness," part three of a four-
part self-esteem workshop, is
scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
March 9. Assertiveness skills
will be the focus of the discus-
sion. There is no charge for
attending.

seeking volunteers to assist
with a federally sponsored
senior hot lunch program.
Duties would include setting
tables, serving food and pack-
ing homebound meals. In-

Shows Movie

Temple Emanu-El's Mature
and Exciting Set (EMES) will
present a movie matinee at
the temple 1 p.m. March 15.

Pygmalian, the 1938 Oscar-
winning film of George Ber-
nard Shaw's play (which

shown.

Darchei Torah
Has Purim Shop

Yeshivas Darchei Ibrah will
hold its first "One Stop Purim
Shop," featuring "Fun Day for
Kids," 1:30-5 p.m. March 8 at
the United Hebrew Schools
building.
A professional juggler will
perform at 2 p.m., a Purim
puppet show will be held at 4
p.m., and plaster craft, Purim
arts and crafts, videos, and
more, will be ongoing
throughout the day.
There is a charge for in-
dividual activities, with full
day passes available. In the
auditorium, candies, goodies,
baking supplies, shalach
manot containers, costumes
and trinkets for Purim will be
available.
The Purim Shop will also be
open 7-9 p.m. March 8 and
9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. March 9.
