will travel to Washington,
D.C., to attend a national
public action conference con-
vened by the Zionist
Organization of America
March 1-4 to press for the
granting of loan guarantees
to Israel.
Representatives will be
Sidney Silverman, Anne
Gonte Silver, Dr. Jerome
Kaufman, George Mann and
Sheryl Silver.
The conference will be brief-
ed by Israeli Ambassador
Zalman Shoval.

Student Volunteers
Will Be Honored

Nominations for Farm-
ington/Farmington Hills area
student volunteers are being
accepted for Farmington
Youth Assistance's seventh
annual recognition breakfast.
Residents in grades 6-12 who
do volunteer service are
eligible.
Nominees will be judged
strictly on volunteer service
to another individual, organ-
ization or the community.
Paid services and community
service for high school credit
will not be considered.
Nominations may come from
adults or organizations.
Nomination forms and in-
formation may be obtained by
calling FYA, 489-3434. The
deadline for nominations is
March 18.

Yeshiva Honors
Local Men

The Yeshiva Beth Yehudah
will give its Torah Pioneer
Award to Mr. Alex Saltsman
at this year's dinner March
15 at the Westin Hotel.
Mr. Saltsman works at and
is an owner of Factory Steel
and Metal Supply Company
in Highland Park. He has
served as chairman and board
member on many of the
Yeshiva's committees. Most
recently he played a key role
in the procuring of the B'nai
Moshe Synagogue for use as
the new Sally Allan Alex-
ander Beth Jacob School.
At this year's dinner, the
Yeshiva will initiate the Rab-
bi Leizer Levin Memorial
Award created to honor the
individual who exemplifies
characteristics valued by Rab-
bi Levin. The award will be
presented to Dr. Phillip Fried-
man, chief of the Department
of Neurosurgery at Sinai
Hospital.
