AJE Plans
Workshop

The Agency for Jewish
Education Resource Center
will coordinate a Sephardic
showcase workshop for
Jewish educators 1-3 p.m.
March 1 at the United
Hebrew Schools building.
The program will feature a
talk by Professor Moshe
Lazar on "A Historical and
Cultural Odyssey of Sephar-
dic Jewry." Dr. Lazar is pro-
fessor of drama and com-
parative literature at the
University of Southern
California.
During lunch, participants
will sample Sephardic foods
and view segments from the
video "From Toledo to
Jerusalem" with Yehoram
Gaon. Following lunch, the
Resource Center staff will be
costumed in medieval garb
and roleplay some per-
sonalities from the Golden
Age of Sephardic Jewry. The
talk will follow.
Pre-registration is required
to receive a packet of
materials at the door. For
lunch reservations, please
call 354-1050. There is a
charge for non-AJE staff.

Learning Network of
Michigan, will hold a special
program for newly arrived
Jewish immigrants 7:30 p.m.
March 1 at Machon L'Torah.
The program, which will
center around an ice cream
social, will feature a lecture
on "Whose Orders Did
Schwartzkopf Really Follow?"
There is no charge. For

Machon L'Torah will hold
an educational evening led by
Rabbi Jacobovitz titled
"Where Judaism and
Humanism Part Company"
7:30 p.m. March 4 at the Lear-
ning Center.

sion will follow. Refreshments
will be served; there is no
charge.

their partners and friends,
holds Friday night services
the third Friday of each
month.
Simcha will co-host an in-
terfaith dance April 4.
