Maple-Drake
Offers Classes
Ballroom dancing classes at
the Maple-Drake Jewish
Community Center will start
the first and second week in
March. In the beginner class
students will learn the basics
of social dancing. Beginning
patterns of fox-trot, rhumba,
swing and waltz will be
presented.
The intermediate will be a
continuation of the beginners
class. New patterns and com-
binations will be taught.
Night Club Jazz will teach
freestyle movement and com-
binations that emphasize fun
on the dance floor.
Another new class will be
Street Dancing for adults.
Bridge lessons will be of-
fered at Maple-Drake. The
Audrey Grant Bridge Series
of beginner and intermediate
instruction will be taught by
an accredited teacher. Some
will be offered mornings and
one beginner class will be of-
fered on Tuesday evenings.
This is an eight-week bridge
semester.
The JCC has added Lisa
Nowak to its dance studio
staff. Ms. Nowak graduated
from Adelphi University with
a B.A. degree in dance after
attending the Juilliard
School. She did post-gradaute
work at Sarah Lawrence Col.-.
lege and attended the Robert
Joffrey Ballet School, the
Martha Graham School and
the Mary Anthony Studio.
