Art Galleries
Extend Hours

The North Woodward
gallery district in downtown
Birmingham will continue to
provide extended gallery
hours through 8:30 p.m. the
first Thursday of the month,
March 5. "First Thursday" is
a coordinated effort of
galleries in downtown Birm-
ingham located north of
Maple Road on Woodard striv-
ing to accommodate the busy
work schedules of art patrons
by providing simultaneous
openings, lectures and ex-
tended gallery hours.
The North Woodward
Galleries will welcome San-
dra Collins to the Birm-
ingham gallery district. The
Sandra Collins Gallery will
present selected works in clay,
fiber, metal, wood and glass.
Xochipilli Gallery and the
Elizabeth Stone Gallery will
be celebrating new art
exhibitions.

Theatre Company
Stages Mystery

The Theatre Company of
the University of Detroit Mer-
cy will present Lanford
Wilson's mosaic of small-town
Middle America, The Rimers
of Eldritch, March 6-22 in the
Earl D.A. Smith Theatre.
Curtain times will be 8 p.m.
Thursdays, Fridays and
Saturdays and 7 p.m. Sun-
days. A Sunday matinee per-
formance will be given March
15 at 2 p.m. in addition to the
evening performance.

Opens Two Plays

A.R. Gurney's comedy The
Cocktail Hour will open 8
p.m. March 7 at the Hilberry
Theatre.
The play will continue in
repertory through April 18.
