A reception will follow the awards ceremony. The 24 semi-finalists, each a graduating high school senior, have demonstrated academic excellence, con- tinued their religious educa- tion and are actively par- ticipating in community ser- vice. Each candidate is being sponsored by a community organization. In addition, each senior has written an essay on the 1992 theme, "Be- ing Jewish: How It Enhances Or Detracts From My Life," and has appeared for an inter- view before a panel of five judges. The speaker will be Joanna Abramson, a previous award winner. Betty Silverfarb will speak and make a special presentation.
