Violinist Elizabeth Rowin
will be the featured performer
in the fourth Boaz Siegel
Culture Fund Concert Series
2 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Jimmy
Prentis Morris Jewish Com-
munity Center.
Ms. Rowan began her
musical association with the
Jewish Community Center at
the age of 13 when she was
both a member and soloist
with the Jewish Community
Center Symphony Orchestra
under the direction of Julius
Chajes.
She continued her studies
at the University of Michigan
where she received a
specialist degree in violin per-
formance. Ms. Rowin has per-
formed as a chamber musi-
cian and soloist at Aspen,
Sarasota and Norfolk music
festivals, the Music Academy
of the West and the American
School of Fine Arts in Foun-
tainbleau, France. She is on
the violin and chamber music
faculty of Oakland Universi-
ty and the Jewish Communi-
ty Center's School of Music.
Her program will include:
Prokofief's Sonata in D Mjor,
Chajes' Tefilah (Prayer),
Massenet — Meditation, from
the Opera Thais and Bolcom
— The Graceful Ghost Rag.

Remnants, a Holocaust
Remembrance Special by
Hank Greenspan, produced
by Michigan radio Theatre,
will be distributed through
National Public Radio Net-
work during March.
The work is based on 15
years of conversations with
Holocaust survivors.
Michigan Radio, a listener-
supported broadcast service of
the University of Michigan,
can be heard in Ann Arbor on
WUOM, 91.7 FM, in Grand
Rapids on WVGR, 104.1 FM,
and in Flint on WFUM, 91.1
