This year's Con- ference will include a premier film, a performance by the Jewish Ensemble Theatre from Detroit, an address by actor Robert Clary, a 24 hour vigil. The conference will serve as a living memorial to the 6 million Jews and other victims. The opening event will be a Memorial of Names 12:30 p.m. March 5-6, on the Diag. During thee 24 hours, readers form the Ann Arbor and university communities will take turns reading names of those who perished in the Holocaust. Poet Aaron Kramer will do a reading, "Poetry of the Holocaust," 9 p.m. March 6, at Hillel. Mr. Kramer will read some of his own poetry from that era as well as responses to the horror written by poets of many countries. The film Korczak (Andrew Wajda, 1991) will be shown 8 p.m. at Hillel March 7. There is a charge. The Jewish Ensemble Theatre of Detroit will pre- sent a staged reading of Born Guilty 7:30 p.m. March 8 at Hillel. There is a charge. A showing of Triumph of the Spirit will be 8 p.m. March 10, the story of Salamo Arouch, a boxing champion who fights for his life in the Auschwitz death camp. The topic will be "Life and Medical Insurance; How Do You Get It?" The speakers will be Harvey Brode and Lin- da Currie of the Brode Finan- cial Group. Dance, Acting Classes Set A Mid-Eastern/Oriental Belly dance class will start March 2 at the Maple-Drake Jewish Community Center. This will be an 11 week course, given by "Fatina," coach and director of the Dream Dancers Dance Groupe, and the 1990 silver medalists of the American Dance Spectrum Competition. There is a fee.
