Luncheon to benefit the
Lillian Saltsman Memorial
Library. The luncheon will be
12:30 p.m. March 1 at Young
Israel of Oak Woods.
For 37 years Mrs. Roberg
was an educator at the
United Hebrew Schools. In
preparation for retirement,
she mastered the art of
Hebrew and English
calligraphy and developed it
into a second career.
Since her arrival in Detroit
in 1940, together with her
husband Alex, Mrs. Roberg
has been instrumental in the
success of numerous organiza-
tions, including Shaare Zedek
Hospital of Jerusalem, Young
Israel Sisterhood, Women's
Orthodox League, Yigdal,
Sinai Hospital Ladies Guild,
as well as Machon Elbrah.
Babysitting will be provid-

Forum Hosts
Maj. Yariv
Major General Aharon
Yariv, former Director of
Israeli Military Intelligence,
will speak at a community-
wide forum 8 p.m. Feb. 24 at
Congregatoin Shanrey Zedek.
James Augst, president of
Stone, August, Baker Com-
munications, will be the
forum chairman. The forum
is co-sponsored by the
American Society for Tech-
nion - Israeli Institute of
Technology, Inc., and the
Jewish Community Council
of Metropolitan Detroit.
Almost a year after Iraqi
Scud missiles stopped on Tel
Aviv, the world is a different
place. How will the changing
geopolitical map affect Israel
in the 21st century? Major
General Yariv will address
this question.
A dessert reception will
follow the program, which is
free of charge and open to the
