Harold Norris:
Law Professor
EL AL, Israel's National Airline, has given Masada its
Eagles Wings Award in recognition of Masada's superb
programs.
Geared for High-School and College youth, age 13 to 23,
Masada offers a choice of programs: Kibbutz, Poland,
Sports, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, Scuba, Leadership, College,
Folkdance.

the Bill of Rights and the
whole of the American
people, including all
minorities, including the
Jewish people, are all bound
up together in our constitu-
tional bundle. Our interest
as Americans and Jews in
the integrity of the whole of
the Constitution and the
Bill of Rights is one and
inseparable. Only to the
degree that we protect and
defend the whole of the Bill
of Rights for all will we be
protecting our security and
our liberty, our religion and
our conscience, our privacy
and our autonomy, our
political freedom, our right
to be different. Only by
sensitive, persistent and

BACKGROUND:
Norris grew up in Detroit
with his parents, Louis and
Jenny. His parents were
married for 60 years. His
father was the owner of
Metropolitan Tobacco and
Candy Co. Professor Norris
attended the Detroit Public
Schools: Brady, Durfee and
Central High School. His
formal Jewish studies were
at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek from kindergarten
through high school.
He graduated from the
University of Michigan in
1939 and received a
master's degree in
economics in 1941. He was
