Children will be able to
create a treasure and ex-
perience preserving a part of
their Jewish heritage noon-4
p.m. Feb. 2 at the Janice
Charach Epstein Museum/
Gallery at the Maple-Drake
Jewish Community Center.
The Museum/Gallery will
sponsor "Grand Influence,"
an event in which children of
all ages are invited to bring a
grandparent or special older
person to the Museum/Gal-
lery for a photographic shoot
and interview session. Monte
Nagler, a local photographer,
and Marcia Boxman and
Elaine Yaker of the Pierce
Street Gallery, will
photograph the child's
"Grand Influence" and the
children will conduct an in-
terview about their guests'
Jewish heritage.
The photographs and inter-
views will be fashioned into
an exhibition Feb. 9 to be
displayed in the JCC Maple-
Drake lobby, with an opening
reception held to honor the
young artists and their
families.
There is a charge; pre-
registration is required.
Following the exhibition, the
photograph and typeset inter-
view will become the families'
keepsake.
This opportunity will ac-
company the Museum/Gal-
lery's exhibition "Survival
and Success: Jewish Cultural
Portraits from Central
Europe," co-sponsored with
the Goethe Institute and on
view through Feb. 27.
For registration or informa-
tion, call 661-1000, ext. 470.
