Members of Sinai's cardiac
support group Heart to Heart
will staff a display and offer
information on the group's
monthly meetings which offer
information on cardiac care.
Seniors interested in
volunteering their time at
Sinai may talk with members
of the Sinai Hospital Guild to
learn about opportunities at
the Detroit-based hospital.
Representatives from a
number of medical associa-
tions, including the Arthritis
Foundation and the Alzhei-
mer's Association, will be on
hand to answer questions and
offer free literature.
Prior to the afternoon
medical screenings, Sinai will
present two lectures of in-
terest to seniors: "Aspects of
Aging," by Sinai gerentologist
Harold Rodner, and "Improv-
ing with Age," by Sinai
medical social worker Ken-
neth Sherman The lectures
will begin at 11 a.m. in the
assembly hall of JPM.
Advance registration is re-
quired at the health fair and
may be made by calling the
JPM at 967-4030.

Program Needs
Senior Volunteers

The Retired Senior
Volunteer Program of Wayne
County needs volunteers age
60 or older for its STAR
Patrol. STAR, Seniors
Teaching and Reaching, is an
intergenerational tutoring
program that matches seniors
with selected children in
kindergarten through 6th
grade.
A minimum of two hours
per week are required. All
materials, training and on-
going in-services are free.

RSVP is a nonprofit pro-
gram, funded by ACTION
and the Office of Services to
the Aging, providing com-
munity service activities for
individuals age 60 and over.
