JPM Seniors
Event Calendar
"Stretch and 'Done," a non-
impact aerobics class, will be
9:30-10:30 a.m. and "Fitness
for All," a program for active
seniors, will be 10:30-11 a.m.
Jan. 30.
Senior Health Check is
scheduled for Jan. 30 at the
JPM.
Dr. Harold Rodner will
speak about the "Aspects of
Aging" at 11 a.m. Kenneth
Sherman will follow with a
presentation on senior adult
health services. Hearing, vi-
sion, blood pressure and fast
blood sugar screenings will be
available 12:30-3 p.m.
There is no charge, but
reservations are required.

AARP Taxaide counselors
will be available to assist
moderate income seniors with
tax forms.
Volunteers who have
special training from the IRS
will be available 9:30
a.m.-2:30 p.m. Feb. 7 and Feb.
14 to prepare federal, state,
homestead and energy credit
forms.
Persons interested in tak-
ing advantage of this free ser-
vice are asked to bring 1991
"W" forms and 1099 forms,
interest records, dividends
and Social Security received
in 1991 as well as records of
the amount of real estate
taxes or rent paid and to
whom in 1991. A copy of the
1990 tax return is helpful. All
information is confidential.

Sinai Hosts
Health Screening
Sinai Hospital and the
Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit will
host a series of free medical
screenings for seniors 1-3 p.m.
Jan. 30 at the JCC's Jimmy
Prentis Morris Branch.
"Sinai Hospital/Jewish
Community Center Health-
check" will feature Sinai
nurses who will provide
screenings for blood pressure,
hearing, vision and a check of
height and weight. Sinai
registered dieticians will be
on hand to answer questions
regarding proper diet and will
offer recipes for a variety of
low-fat, low-cholesterol, low-
sodium meals.
Sander Kushner, chairman
of Sinai's department of
Family Practice, will be
available to answer any
medical questions at the "Ask
a Doctor" table.
