At Maple-Drake

The Jewish Community
Center's Hearing Loss Peer
Support Group will host a
presentation on the medical
treatments for hearing loss 1
p.m. Jan. 20 in Room 239 at
Maple-Drake.
The program will be
facilitated by Dr. Howard Yer-
man, otolaryngologist from
Sinai Hospital. Dr. Yerman
will present treatments for
hearing loss, including infor-
mation on hearing aids and
surgical treatments.
Refreshments will be serv-
ed. There is an admission fee.
The Me and My Grandchild
program will hold "You and
Me and The Giving Tree," a
celebration of Tu B'Shevat,
Jewish Arbor Day, 10 a.m.
Jan. 20 at Maple-Drake.
Activities will include
stories, songs, seed planting
and art projects. There is a
charge for this program.
A fund has been establish-
ed to help families who need
assistance in order to par-
ticipate. To register, call
Margo Weitzer, 661-1000, ext.

Plan Activities

The Jimmy Prentis Morris
Senior Adult Department will
host several events.
Awakenings will be shown
10 a.m. Jan. 24. No charge.
A Russian language video
featuring comedian-singer
Klaudia Shulzenko will be
shown 1:30 p.m. Jan. 24.
In honor of Tu B'Shevat, a
program about the trees of
Israel will be presented 1 p.m.
Jan. 20. A representative
from the Jewish National
Fund will speak.
The second in a series of
Russian language lectures on
Russian literature will be of-
fered 3 p.m. Jan. 20 in Jaffe
Hall. Asia Levin will speak.
The Yiddish Culture Club
will present Yiddishe Mama,
a 1939 Yiddish language film
with English subtitles 1 p.m.
Jan. 23.
Senior Health Check,
health screenings and infor-
mation, will be held Jan. 30.
The event will feature Dr.
Harold Rodner, who will
speak about the "Aspects of
Aging" 11 a.m. Kenneth
Sherman, geriatric social
worker will follow with a
presentation on senior adult
health services. During the
afternoon, from 12:30 to 3:30
p.m., hearing, vision, blood
pressure and fast blood sugar
screenings will be available.
A nutritionist, pharmacist
and family practice physician
will be on hand.
