Archaeological Dig This program combines 25 days of touring throughout Israel with two days of fascinating involvement on an archaeological dig site (under supervision of profes- sional archaeologists and university professors). Hagigah Arts Festival in Israel The participants on this program will experience Israel through the eyes and Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit Jimmy Prentis Morris Building Orientation and Open House Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. March 21, April 11, May 2 & May 16 seeks to raise questions and contrast different com- mitments and practices. Participants are usually young people who are open to asking questions and want to experiment with new forms of self-expression. A background in the arts is not necessary to participate in Nesiya. The Seminar observes com- mon denominators which allow Jews of different back- grounds to live together. The program is strictly kosher, and no group activities are conducted on the Sabbath which would violate its tradi- tional observance. At the same time, religious obser- vance is optional. The group is encouraged to develop its own program ideas for celebrating Shabbat together.
