Hebrew Free Loan
Establishes Funds
The Temple Beth Jacob
Crisis and Celebration funds
have been created through
the Hebrew Free Loan
Association Centennial En-
dowment Fund from the pro-
ceeds of the sale of temple
buildings. The funds will
preserve the temple's name
by aiding individuals and
families.
Families on a limited in-
come who are planning a
bar/bat mitzvah, wedding, or
other simcha and who might
not be able to afford a modest
celebration will be aided by
the fund.
The Crisis Fund was
created to make loans to peo-
ple who do not fit the usual
criteria of HFLA, which
enables people in metro-
politan Detroit to help them-
selves by making interest-free
loans.
Individual funds created
through Horizons, a joint en-
dowment program of the
Federated Endowment Fund
of the Jewish Federa-
tion/United Jewish Charities
(UJC) and its member agen-
cies, support crises, trans-
portation needs, funds for
special events in families on
limited income and loans for
small businesses and other
needs.
