Shi'ite Dies
In Lebanon

Tel Aviv (JTA) - A clash
in the southern Lebanon
security zone has left one
Shi'ite gunman dead and
four soldiers of the Israeli-
backed South Lebanon
Army slightly wounded.
It occurred when an SLA
patrol came under automatic
fire in the Kantara region
and returned the fire.
The body of a man believed
to have been the leader of a
band of infiltrators was
found in the area with per-
sonal weapons, ammunition
and a portable radio.
The Iranian-backed Hez-
bollah, or Party of God, has
increased attacks on Israeli
and SLA troops patrolling
the security zone to register
its opposition to the Arab-
Israeli peace talks.
