able to take advanced place-
ment courses at S-L, he has
already earned sophomore
status.
At S-L, whether in the
classroom or on the basket-
ball court, my son received
the support and encourage-
ment of his administration,
teachers and peers.
My daughter is now a junior
at Southfield-Lathrup. She,
too, is being intellectually
challenged in accelerated
classes. Through the vocal
music/drama departments,

she has been provided with
remarkable opportunities to
grow as an individual.
For my daughter, as well as
for my son, then, South-
field-Lathrup High' School
has been ideal — academical-
ly, socially and personally.
Southfield, therefore, is an
outstanding community in
which to live and learn. To
allow Southfield and its
schools to die would most
definitely be a tragedy.
