CATERING AND GIFT BASKETS
realities, we must, as never
before, renew the Messianic
vision. Let us cherish the
hope that beyond this troubl-
ed present, a great and
glorious future is held for us
— a future which will bring
peace to the Jewish people,
freedom to Jews who live
under persecution, and tran-
quility to all the inhabitants
of this earth. As we light the
candles of Chanukah, in-
creasing the number each
night, we renew our faith that
in a world darkened by hatred
and cruelty, we can increase
the lights of truth, justice and
decency. We can hasten the
day when God will cause a
new light to shine over Zion.
May that faith merit the
fulfillment of the promise
that "You will see your
children's children, peace over
Israel." 0

The Jews, instead of being
stationary . . . were, like the
Greeks the most progressive
people of antiquity and,
jointly with them, have been
the starting point and main
propelling agency of modern
civilization.
