et's see now: two, five,

seven, five, four.
That comes to 23
total victories out of about
100 games in five consecutive
seasons. And that adds up to
a pretty dismal basketball
story at Bloomfield Hills An-
dover since 1986.
But change is in the wind.
The lowly Barons, used and
abused by teams both in and
out of the Southeastern
Michigan Association (SMA)
league, have a new coaching
staff, a hungry squad and a
new attitude.
The 1991-92 Barons aren't
too tall — the head coach, at
6-foot-6, is the tallest man on
the bench — but they've got
shooting and hustle. They're
ready to run-and-gun their
way out of the cellar and into
respectability this season.
They'll get to show they
mean business at 7:30 p.m.
Dec. 10 when they open the
season with a non-conference
game at Bloomfield Hills
Lahser, followed in quick suc-
cession by SMA foe South-
field Dec. 13, Hazel Park on
the 14th and Birmingham
Groves on the 17th.
"The kids know we're going

to win," says new head coach
Ed Okuniewski, "and if you
believe it and you know it,
that's half the battle right
there."
Just before Thanksgiving,
"Coach 0" was leaning
toward a season-opening
lineup of seniors Jeff Rosen-
berg, Mike Laker and John
Little, plus juniors Matt Low-
man and Keith Yarbrough.
The 6-foot-1 Rosenberg, a
guard and team co-captain,
and the 6-foot-2 Laker, a for-
ward, are returning starters
from last year. Lowman, a for-
ward who was the junior var-
sity's scoring leader as a soph-
omore, replaced senior starter
Magi Fawaz, the other co-
captain, sidelined in pre-
season with an ankle injury.
Little, a 6-footer, took the
point-guard spot over from
Texas transfer Marcus Zuazu,
6-foot-1, who injured -his back.
The 6-foot-4 Yarbrough, the
team's tallest player, is the
center.
Lowman, says Coach 0, is
"an excellent outside shooter
who takes the ball to the hole,
too . . . a well-rounded basket-
ball player. He's proven
himself in every drill we've
run."
The Barons' head coach is
high on Rosenberg and Laker,
