novelist Sara Paretsky 7:30

focus on "Truth, Lies and
Videotape," a discussion on
the issue of censorship.

In 1982, Sara Paretsky,
then a mid-level manager at
a major insurance company,
decided to switch careers. She
was tired of mystery novels in
which the only roles women
characters played were as
punching bags, helpless waifs
or sly seductresses. It was this
that prompted her to write
her first V.I. Warshawski
novel.
