Center Sets Human Rights Day The Center for Peace and Conflict Studies and Detroit Council for World Affairs will present the 1991 Human Rights Day celebration 2-5 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Majestic Theatre, Detroit. The 1991 Human Rights Award will be presented to Clementine Barfield and Grace Boggs of S.O.S.A.D. (Save Our Sons And Daughters). The 1991 Humanity in the Arts Award will be presented to Bill Day, cartoonist of the < Detroit Free Press. This event also will honor students who participated in the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights' 1991 Freedom Tour of the South. There will be a silent auc- tion of food and entertain- ment items, along with musical entertainment and a buffet and cash bar. Reservations are required. QUICK POTATO LATKES WITH SALMON SAUCE 3 cups frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed, well drained 2 eggs, beaten 1 small onion, quartered /4 cup flour 1 /4 teaspoon CALUMET Baking Powder 1 /4 teaspoon salt 1 • Place potatoes, eggs, onions, flour, baking powder and salt in food processor container with steel blade attached, process until potatoes and onions are finely chopped. Spoon level measuring table- spoonfuls potato mixture into 11/2 inches hot oil. Fry until golden brown, turning once. Keep warm in oven. Repeat with remaining potato mixture. Spoon Salmon Sauce into red pepper cup, if desired. Serve with potato latkes. Garnish with fresh dill, if desired.
