The two programs are for high school students. Project Discovery allows Detroit area students to study for a semester in Israel. March of the Living brings Jewish students from around the world to Holocaust sites in Poland, and to Israel. Mrs. LaMed and her late husband Louis have been ac- tive in the Zionist commun- ity and in 1940 established a literary foundation to stimulate Hebrew and Yiddish writing. The United Hebrew Schools auditorium is named in their honor.
