Rabbi Avraham Jacobovitz,
director of Machon L'Torah,
will speak noon Nov. 18 at the
B'nai B'rith Hillel Founda-
tion at Wayne State Univer-
sity. Admission is free; dessert
will be served.
Rabbi Jacobovitz's topic will
be "Verbal Abuse." The Hillel

Haim Chertok, Israeli
writer, will speak 3 p.m. Nov.
20 at the English Depart-
ment at Wayne State Univer-
sity, 51 West Warren.
Mr. Chertok's topic will be

Political Crisis." This talk is

Help Others

At Oakland Community
College, Orchard Ridge cam-
pus, Nov. 19 will be a day set
aside to think about and to do
something for people less
fortunate.
Making sandwiches for the
hungry will take place from
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the
Rathskeller in Tirrell Hall
(Bldg. J).
Canned and packaged
goods also will be ap-
preciated. The food will be
picked up by Forgotten
Harvest and taken to area
shelters.
This event is sponsored by
the Jewish Student Associa-
tion, Students Against
Hunger and the Student Ac-
tivities Department of Or-
chard Ridge.

Machon Plans
Two Lectures

Machon Mbrah, the Jewish
Learning Network of
Michigan, will present an
educational evening on "Mar-
riage, Intermarriage and
Racism" 7:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at
Congregation Ohel Moed of
West Bloomfield.
Rabbi Avraham Jacobovitz
will lead the discussion entitl-
ed, "Could Judy S. Shapiro
and Fitzgerald J. McDonald
Live Happily Ever After?"
Refreshments will be serv-
ed; there is no charge.
Machon IfIbrah will hold
the opening session of the
Judaicollege fall semester
7:30 p.m. Nov. 18. The pro-
gram will offer a new course
entitled "Jewish Living: Why
and How?"
On opening night, Rabbi
Jacobovitz will focus on
"Belief in God: Why and
How?" No Hebrew back-
ground is required.
There will be no charge.
Refreshments will be served.
