Jewish Secularists
Hold Congress

The Congress of Secular
Jewish Organizations will
hold a Midwest Regional Con-
ference Nov. 23 at the Dillon
Inn, Farmington Hills.
The program and discussion
groups include: A Jewish
Humanistic approach to
inter-marriage, the role of
madrakhim and what ser-
vices they can provide,
political, social and economic
changes in Eastern and Cen-
tral Europe as they relate to
Jews, and a teacher/parent
workshop.
Panelists and discussion
leaders include: Bette Schein,
from the Sholem Aleichem
Institute; Norma Shifrin,
Ellen Bates Brackett and Jan
Adler from Workmen's Circle;
Yehudit Newman from the
Ann Arbor Jewish Communi-
ty; Marilyn Wolfe from the
Jewish Parents Institute;
Jack Stein from JPI's Club
120; Guy Stern, professor of
German language and litera-
ture at Wayne State Univer-
sity; George Mann, immigra-
tion attorney; and Gerry Rev-
zin, executive director of
C.S.J.O.
A continental breakfast,
buffet luncheon, and dinner
will be served.
The evening will feature
Laura Pershin of Ann Arbor
telling Jewish family stories.
Host organizations for the
conference are the Jewish
Parents Institute and the
Ann Arbor Jewish Communi-
ty Group.

Plans Program

The Janice Charach Eps-
tein Museum/Gallery at the
Maple-Drake Jewish Com-
munity Center will present
the exciting program for
families in conjunction with
the "On, Of and About
Paper" exhibition now on
view.
On Nov. 17, between 1 and
4 p.m., the Museum/Gallery
will offer a "hands-on" paper-
making experience, an oppor-
tunity for children to create
their own art objects and holi-
day presents and a guided do-
cent tour of the exhibit.
Cosponsored with the "Me
and My Grandchild" pro-
gram, this event is open to
children with grandparents,
parents or a special adult
friend. The workshops and
tours will be ongoing during
the afternoon. There is a
charge; all children must be
