She was past president of the Sisterhood of Congrega- tion B'nai David and active with the Red Cross and bond drives during World War II. She was honorary house mother of Phi Sigma Delta fraternity at the University of Michigan during World War II and corresponded with more than 50 servicemen. She leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Durand and Lenore of Redlands, Calif.; daughter and son-in- law, Harriet and Dr. Bernard Sisman of Monroe; son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Marlene of Southfield; daughter and son-in-law, Blossom and Robert Matlen of Reseda, Calif.; 15 grand- children; 17 great-grand- -children. Mr. Benaim was in the restaurant supply business and was president of Peoples Restaurant Equip- ment and Supply Co. in Detroit. He was a member of Zager Stone Lodge, was a B'nai B'rith past president, and won the Man of the Year award in 1984. He leaves his wife, Roselyn; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Cindy of Oak Park; daughters and son-in-law, Sandy August of Southfield, Leslee and Mark Kohn of W. Bloomfield; son, Kenneth Sherman of LaMesa, Calif.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rachel and Jack Posner of Hollywood, Fla., Mae and Carl Begonia of Dolton, Ill., Esther and Sheldon Newman of Las Vegas; sister-in-law, Natalie Cohen of Sarasota, Fla.; two grandchildren. Robin Shapiro, W. L. Student Robin J. Shapiro, of Com- merce Township, died Nov. 6. She was 15. Miss Shapiro was a sophomore at Walled Lake Central High School, a jazz dancer and an expert water skier. She donated her time for emotionally disturbed children at her high school.
